Cybercrime is estimated to cost £27billion per annum in the UK alone and is ranked as one of the Government’s top 4 priorities in defence of the nation. It is a major issue and serious threat to business.
Our speaker, Michael Baume is an Associate Director of Risk Management International and leads their Cybercrime Division. He is also Chairman and founding member of the Financial Services Club Ireland and can provide both local and international perspectives through his work.
As a former Group Chief Information Officer and latterly a Chief Risk Officer, Michael has extensive experience in identifying, mapping and containing the threats that come from Cybercrime.
He was a founding member of the Irish Banking Federation High Tech Crime Forum, set up in 2006 and works closely with law enforcement and the intelligence agencies particularly on identifying threats to Critical National Infrastructure including the utility sector, transport and financial services.
Through Risk Management International, Michael is focusing attention on the connections between the Board Room, the Compliance, Risk and Audit agendas and the traditional role of Technology as the door keep of infrastructure and information assets. His approach is equally of relevance to business areas such Human Resources, Operations, and the senior management team.
